| Mc Fetridge Cup Final |
|
22nd July 2007 |
| Glenarm 2-6 Carey 5-10 |
Carey picked up the McFetridge cup for the first time at the Armoy tournament. After beating Armoy on the friday evening Carey went in as underdogs against a fancied Glenarm side, who had disposed of Loughgiel in their other Semi Final. Despite having five players missing due to injury Carey started the stronger side with Gerald McAuley scoring a point followed up by a goal in the ninth minute. Both sides exchanged points but a fine Peter Murphy goal on half time gave Carey a 2-5 to 0-5 advantage. The second half was only a few minutes old when Gerald McAuley netted his second goal, this was followed a couple of minutes later by another goal by Peter Murphy. Our Mid-field pairing of Nat Hunter and Tommy Devlin, were the inspiration for the win with a Paul Devlin |
