Carey Faughs 2-14 Glenravel 0-7
Despite this game being a close encounter, especially in the first half, it was a game we never looked like losing. Early points from Martin McAuley and Martin Butler gave us a two point lead at half time 0-7 to 0-5, the only point from play was a Martin Hunter point, with Butler and McAuley getting the remaining. All Glenravels first half scores came from dead balls taken by Neil McCann. The second half saw Carey making their pressure felt and with points from Paul Devlin and Doug McAuley from play, edged ahead by six points including some frees by Martin McAuley. The home sides reply was a McCann free.
The turning point came on the 51st minute with a Julian Gillan flick of the ball to the Glenravel net. This was followed up by a long range point from Doug. With the game entering its final minutes a foul on Martin Butler was taken by Martin McAuley, the 20m free was blasted to the Glenravel net. Glenravel managed two points from frees in the second half.
