The young Glenshesk team proved to be too much for the majority of opposition in 2B beating Con Magees 3-0 followed by Strabane 5-0. There main opposition came from Kickham Creggan who at first time of asking drew 2-2 with, Daniel Martin and Ciaran McKenna getting the goals for Glenshesk. The Glenshesk team then went on to beat Ballygalget 3-0. With Kickhams and Glenshesk both unbeaten at the end of the days competition it was left to a play off with Kickhams to decide who would go through to next weeks final. The play off was hotly contested with both teams eager to make it through to the final stages but it was Glenshesk that had learned the most from the first encounter to win 4-1. Star forward Daniel Martin scored 9 goals and was ably supported by Aaron McBride with 6 goals and Ciaran McKenna with 2 goals. Ciaran also moved into goals for the playoff and put in a commanding performance between the posts. The Glenshesk defense was filled by the big presence combination of Turlach McBride and Darren McGowan in turn for different matches, their determined tackling ensured that few teams got the chance to score. Alexander Butler and Eoin McCarry were also for various different matches filling the mid field role and always kept the ball moving to our accurate forward line that alternated between Daniel Martin and Finvola McVeigh.
