Glenshesk 1 playing in Section 2B Final of the North Antrim 5 aside Indoor league put in a very good display of team work against a sharp Burt team of Donegal but ended up losing in extra time 3-2. On the team for Glenshesk were Aaron McBride, Darren McGowan, Turlach McBride, Eoin McCarry, Daniel Martin, Finvola McVeigh, Alexander Butler and Ciaran McKenna. Glenshesk led by 1 goal to nil at half-time in normal time with a goal from Aaron McBride but Burt hit back in the second-half with goals Denver Kelly and Matthew McDermott to take the lead but Daniel Martin netted for Glenshesk to bring the game to extra time. Burt however made the most of their chances in extra time to seal the game. Star player for Glenshesk on the day was Darren McGowan who put in a rock solid performance in defence and even though he often found himself marking two Burt forwards he still won and cleared the ball time after time. At the final whistle the whole team was disappointed but will definately be back to play another day. |
