Ulster Hurling League Division 2B   11th April 2009
Carrickmore 2-16 Carey 1-8
We travelled to Tyrone to meet the County Champions with a very young panel.  Indeed at one stage we had seven minors on the field; Kevin Hardaker, Shane Mc Cambridge, Chris Butler, Steven Mc Ginn, Brian Gormley, James Mc Quaige, and James Black, with John Mc Bride missing due to injury.  The first half was a fairly even affair, with the aid of five senior players.  We were unlucky to go in at half time 1-6 to 0-5 in arrears. The main performers in the first period were Martin and Nat Hunter, along with Fintan Mc Carry, Colm Mc Bride and Emmett Hunter.  But with an important match the next day, we introduced all of our young players, who gave an excellent account of themselves against the maturity of the Tyrone County team.  Some great goalkeeping from Chris Butler inspired the team, with great displays from James Black, Steven Mc Ginn, and Shane Mc Cambridge. Carey Scorers: Martin Hunter 0-5 James Black 0-1 Nat Hunter 0-1 Fintan Mc Carry 0-1 Conor O' Brien 1-0
